What are your standard sizes?
Here at Caltherm, we don’t have standard sizes; we pride ourselves on being a bespoke manufacturer, whereby we design to your specification. A member of our experienced sales team will be happy to help.
What instrument manufacturer do you use?
Our most popular supplier is Eurotherm, however, if you require Honeywell, West or PLC based control instrumentation, then we will be happy to oblige.
What is the difference between an industrial oven and an industrial furnace (kiln)?
In our terms, an oven operates from an ambient temperature to 650°C. It is a heated chamber with circulating air, via a centrifugal fan to improve temperature uniformity, with mineral fibre insulation behind a steel lining.
An industrial furnace (kiln) operates from 500°C to 1300°C. It is a heated chamber with radiant and convective heat from wire wound heating elements, specially designed by Caltherm. We specialise in placing these elements on the walls and, dependant on the application, in the floor (hearth) and roof of the chamber. Insulation behind the heating elements is ceramic fibre. Temperature uniformity is achieved by controlling the elements in zones.
What heating media options are there?
The most common are electric or gas-fired, however, we are experienced with thermal fluid, steam, and indirect gas -fired heating and can therefore adapt to your individual requirements.
How do you define ‘Temperature Uniformity’?
Temperature uniformity is the actual temperature throughout the working volume, relative to the temperature set-point.
What temperature uniformity can you achieve?
Typical industrial applications require +/- 10°C, aerospace and medical application require +/-5°C, with critical applications requiring +/-3°C.
Can you supply a vacuum system?
Yes, we will include the manifold inside the oven, vacuum pump, vacuum receiver for pressure control if required, and vacuum transducers if you require to monitor bag-vacuum integrity.
Do you supply vacuum dryers?
Yes, Caltherm have a vast experience in the manufacture and supply of bespoke vacuum dryers.
Do you have second-hand ovens and furnaces?
No, all ovens are manufactured bespoke to our customer requirements.
Do you have a local agent?
No, we service all enquiries from our office in Newcastle, Staffordshire. We are, however, more than happy to travel to your site, including international sites, to discuss your application, design requirements, installation, commissioning, and servicing needs.
Do you offer servicing?
